Boxing South Africa (BSA) has ordered a rematch of the South African super-middleweight bout between Snamiso Ntuli and Dylan Prosser following a review of their April fight.
An outcry followed after Prosser was declared a winner of last month’s fightagainst Ntuli in Cape Town. And a few days after the fight, BSA ordered a review of the bout.
Initially, Prosser was declared the winner by a split decision after Sipho Ndongeni and Sivuyile Ngwevela had given him the nod with Clifford Mbelu’s scorecard favouring Ntuli.
A review of the fight, which was ordered by BSA, said that Ntuli had won by 115-123 and 118-110 on two scorecards.
“Boxing South Africa concluded the fight review application lodged in respect of the South African super-middleweight title bout between Mr Dylan Prosser and Mr Snamiso Ntuli, which took place on 18 April 2026 in Cape Town, Western Cape,” a BSA statement said on Thursday.
“The application for a fight review was received on 20 April 2026. Having satisfied the requirements set out in the applicable regulations, the application was approved by the Boxing SA sanctioning committee. In accordance with the review process, three independent judges from different provinces were appointed to score the fight. The official result of the bout is a unanimous decision in favour of Mr Snamiso Ntuli.
“Boxing South Africa has duly informed all parties involved of this outcome and hereby orders a rematch between Mr Prosser and Mr Ntuli. Negotiations between the two camps must resume immediately, and both parties are required to inform Boxing South Africa of the agreed date and all relevant contractual obligations.”
The BSA statement concluded: “It must be noted that, in line with Regulation 35(20), the original decision of the fight of 18 April 2026 shall remain unchanged. Boxing South Africa thanks all parties involved for their co-operation throughout this review process.”
