It rained goals at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria as Mamelodi Sundowns whipped Siwelele FC 7-4 in a Betway Premiership match on Saturday evening.
Sundowns’ Colombian-born star Brayan León and Gamphani Lungu from Siwelele each bagged a hattrick during the goal feast.
The Brazilians’ other goals came from Lebohang Mokoena’s brace as well Tashreeq Matthews and Nyiko Mobbie’s own goal. On the other hand, Relebohile Mokhuoane netted Siwelele’s fourth goal.
Meanwhile, Chippa United earned their first point in four matches as they held TS Galaxy to a 1-1 draw in a Betway Premiership match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday afternoon.
The Chilli Boys led 1-0 at half-time courtesy of an Azola Matrose’s goal scored five minutes before the break. This was Matrose’s third goal in three matches. Victor Letsoalo equalised for the Rockets from the penalty spot three minutes into the second half.
Elsewhere, Marumo Gallants drew 1-1 with Richards Bay FC while Lamontville Golden Arrows and Polokwane City played to a goalless draw with Orbit College and AmaZulu failing to find the back of the net.
