Four months after losing to highly-rated Filipino opponent, Regie Suganob, in the Philippines, Siphamandla ‘Toy Toy’ Baleni is returning to Asia next month for a date with Jordanian boxer Huthaifa Eshish in Jordan.
The Mthatha-born Baleni, a former South African minimumweight and junior-flyweight champion, is going to square up against Eshish in Amman on Saturday, 8 August.
“I have a fight in Jordan on the eighth of August. I will be fighting against Huthaifa Eshish,” Baleni, a one-time International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight title contender, revealed.
Rated eighth in the Boxing South Africa (BSA) junior-flyweight division, Baleni was stopped in the eighth round by Suganob during their fight held in Bohol, Philippines, in April. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
