Gavin Hunt believes that Kaizer Chiefs have done well in the CAF Champions League group stages even though they have given away seven points so far.
The Chiefs coach said this after Amakhosi held Petro de Luanda to a goalless draw in Luanda, Angola, on Tuesday evening. Chiefs have won once, drawn twice and lost once.
“Look, we knew it was gonna be much tougher. We also tried to play counter attack and it worked. The final pass let us down. We had a good couple of moments, they also had a good couple of moments. I think the draw is a fair result,” Hunt said after drawing with Petro de Luanda.
Chiefs are slowly changing their fortunes after a very bad start at home. And Hunt is happy with the turn of fortunes even though they are not up there yet.
Chiefs, who are third in Group C with five points off four games, are left with two matches – at home to Wydad Athletic Club and away to Horoya Athletic in Guinea.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi are going to face Orlando Pirates in a second round match at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Sunday. Pirates beat Chiefs 2-1 in the first round.
