Injuries picked up by Bafana Bafana players are a cause for concern for national team coach Hugo Broos as he’s preparing his boys for international friendly matches against Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Bafana face the Namibian Brave Warriors on Saturday and then clash against the Congolese three days later. Both matches are going to be played at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
At least seven players – Khuliso Mudau, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Themba Zwane, Thapelo Maseko, Luke le Roux, Thapelo Morena and Teboho Mokoena – are unavailable for the two matches.
“It’s a strange camp because we have seven injuries. Mudau was injured, but okay he played last Saturday. Nobody informed me about that,” Broos said.
“We have Hlongwane, who is injured. We have Zwane, who is injured. We have Maseko, who’s injured. We have Le Roux, who’s injured. We have Morena, who’s injured. We have now at last Mokoena.”
Broos has since called Pule Mmodi, Mlungisi Mbunjana and Sphephelo Sithole to replace Zwane, Mokoena and Le Roux.
