A new date has been set for the Boxing South Africa (BSA) board’s appearance before Parliament’s portfolio committee on sport, arts and culture.

Friday, 17 November has been set aside for the BSA board’s virtual appearance in Parliament to answer questions on the boxing regulator’s annual report and other matters.

The new date came after Tuesday’s appearance before the portfolio committee on sport, arts and culture got postponed because of the Springboks’ return from France where they won the Rugby World Cup trophy for the fourth time following a 12-11 win over the All Blacks in Saint-Denis last Saturday.

The seven-member BSA board’s two-year term in office is expiring at the end of this month.

The BSA board has been heavily criticised lately after taking some unpopular decisions chief among them being the suspension of the boxing regulatory body’s director of operations Mandla Ntlanganiso in August.

Ntlanganiso is yet to be charged despite being suspended on 10 August, which is almost three months ago.
