Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Philani Zulu believes that their 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday is a motivating factor in their last eight matches of the season.
Amakhosi became the first team to beat the log-leading Brazilians in the DStv Premiership.
“Coming from the weekend game against Sundowns, it was a difficult game. We knew that it was not going to be easy. We were more determined,” Zulu said.
Amakhosi now have a date with struggling Chippa United at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec at 15h00 on Wednesday.
“Our spirits are very high. We wanna continue with the form. It’s not going to be easy against Chippa. They are fighting for their lives. We need to work more harder,” Zulu said.
Chiefs will go out to cement their place in the top-eight as they have collected 28 points after winning six matches, drawing 10 and losing seven. On the other hand, the Chilli Boys are in trouble as they are 15th on the Premiership table with 18 points from three wins, nine draws and 12 losses.
