Kevin ‘The KO Kid’ Lerena is set to leave for the United Kingdom where he is going to become reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury’s sparring partner.

Fury is preparing to face off against World Boxing Association  (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and International Boxing Organisation  (IBO) titlist Oleksandr Uysk next month.

This fight between the two unbeaten champions is pencilled for Saturday, 17 February at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Only the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles are going to be at stake during the clash.

The 31-year-old Lerena is fresh from a points victory over Kosovo-born German boxer Senad Gashi in a WBC bridgerweight title contest at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park last November.
