Mamelodi Sundowns moved closer to defending their DStv Premiership trophy as they defeated Sekhukhune United 2-1 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Tuesday evening.
The Brazilians scored their two goals inside the first eight minutes of the match. This clash was only two minutes old when the Tshwane giants took an early lead with Tasreeq Matthews’ goal.
Five minutes later, the defending DStv Premiership champions doubled their lead through Thapelo Morena’s goal as they led 2-0 at half-time.
Babina Noko came back stronger in the beginning of the second half with Nigerian-born striker Chibuike Ohizu scoring from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.
