Likho Sigaba left Sada boxing followers heart broken after he stopped local favourite Aphiwe Rasmeni at the Whittlesea Multipurpose Hall on Saturday.
And in so doing, Sigaba from Mdantsane successfully defended his Eastern Cape bantamweight title with a ninth round technical knockout victory over Rasmeni.
This was a very good fight where both boxers gave as good as they got until Sigaba prevailed with the stoppage. This was the second time Sigaba defeated Rasmeni as he did the same at the Orient Theatre in East London in October last year.
Meanwhile, Luxolo Gungutho from Nxarhuni outpointed Mdantsane’s Zukisa Mafu in the main supporting bout over 10 rounds.
