Maintaining his unbeaten run will be of paramount importance to Shervantaigh Koopman when he comes up against Canadian Brandon Cook on Saturday evening.

Unbeaten in 14 fights, Koopman fights against Cook in a vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental junior-middleweight title contest at a Golden Gloves tournament at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.

And the 30-year-old Koopman goes to the fight with an unblemished record of 14 wins with nine stoppages.

Meanwhile, Brandon Thysse and Nkhensahosi Makondo will fight for the vacant South African junior-middleweight title, which was vacated by Koopman.

And Ntethelelo Nkosi will make the first defence of his SA junior-welterweight crown against Sanele Msimang in a fight, which features KwaZulu-Natal boxers.
