The winner of this year’s Durban International Marathon and Kenyan athlete Kiprotich Felix Kirui has been banned for two years.
This followed after tests revealed the presence of a prohibited substance Triamcinolone Acetonide, a synthetic corticosteroid medication used topically to treat various skin conditions, in his system.
The latest developments mean that the 39-year-old Kirui, who won the race in 02:10:45, has since been disqualified.
