The Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee on Thursday evening fined Marumo Gallants for the improper registration of Monde Mphambaniso.
“Marumo Gallants have been found guilty of registering a player without the required document. They pleaded guilty and were convicted. Having listened to evidence and the contextual background of this matter. The PSL DC has fined Marumo Gallants,” PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu said.
“They have been fined R200 000, half is payable now and half of it suspended for 24 months on condition that they are not found guilty of the same offence. Should they re-offend, there will be further sanctions. The player Monde Mphambaniso was found not guilty. The party feeling aggrieved has the right to appeal.”
This matter was brought to the PSL by Cape Town City, who were relegated last season. And the Citizens are now free to appeal the PSL DC decision.
