Orlando Pirates advanced to the semi-finals of the MTN8 after a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday.
The Buccaneers took the lead when Oswin Appollis scored against his former team in the 13th minute following a Boitumelo Radiopane assist.
Patrick Maswanganyi made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 35th minute. Match referee Christopher Kistoor awarded Pirates a penalty after Appollis was brought down by Rise and Shine defender Ayabonga Gwangqa inside the box.
