Following the announcement of the capturing of Etiosa Ighodaro, Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the signing of greenhorn Luke Baartman, making him the club’s ninth signing of the 2025/26 season.
The South African junior international joined Amakhosi from Cape Town Spurs, where he played in the Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) last season. Baartman, who also represented South Africa at the junior level, is Amakhosi’s ninth signing.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Luke to our team. He is an exciting young talent that we’ve been monitoring for the past few seasons both at club level, in the Bayhill Cup – where he was voted player of the tournament. We believe he will bring valuable versatility, playing both as a centre-forward and a winger. We look forward to seeing him in action soon,” Amakhosi sporting director Kaizer Motaung Junior said.
The 19-year-old Baartman joined Chiefs after the Premier Soccer League’s dispute resolution chamber declared him a free agent on Tuesday.
