Victor Letsoalo made history by becoming the first Bafana Bafana player to score a hattrick on debut in a COSAFA Cup match as the South African senior national team trounced Lesotho 4-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bloemfontein Celtic striker struck in the fifth minute and then scored his second goal in the 44th minute. That was after Siphelele Mkhulise had made it 2-0 in the 20th minute. Letsoalo completed his hattrick in the 57th minute.
This was the second time Likuena lost by a 4-0 scoreline having been whipped by Botswana on Saturday.
Bafana have won all their three matches so far while Likuena registered one win and three losses.
Meanwhile, Zambia beat Botswana 2-1 in another match, which was played at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakhele.
Justin Shonga netted a brace for Chipolopolo while Thatayaone Kgamanyane scored for the Zebras.
