The Elephants of Ivory Coast and Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions drew 1-1 in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations encounter at the Marrakech Stadium in Morocco on Sunday evening.

After a goalless first half, The Elephants led 1-0 through Amad Diallo’s goal after he was fed by Ghislain N’Clomande Konan in the 51st minute. Five minutes later, a Ghislain N’Clomande Konan own-goal brought life into the Indomitable Lions. 

Elsewhere, Equatorial Guinea were eliminated from the tournament following a 1-0 loss to Sudan at the Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco. An own goal by Saul Coco ensured that the Falcons of Jaedin beat the National Thunder.

Meanwhile, the Mambas of Mozambique showed that they can bite as they defeated Gabon 3-2. Faisal Bangal, Geny Cipriano Catamo and Diogo dos Santos Cabral netted for the Mambas with Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang and Alex Yowan Kevin Moucketou-Moussounda scoring for the Gabonese.

In another match, the Desert Foxes of Algeria are through to the next round of the AFCON tournament after they beat Burkina Faso 1-0 from Riyad Mahrez’s goal.
