Initially closed on Wednesday, 31 March, Boxing South Africa (BSA) announced on Thursday morning that the deadline for the 2026/27 licensing window period has been extended to next month.
The new licensing window is set to open on Monday next week and then close on Friday, 29 May, giving everyone who’s yet to renew or apply for a new licence an opportunity to do so.
“Boxing South Africa (BSA) hereby wishes to announce the opening of a special, final licensing window for the 2026/27 financial year. Following several appeals for extensions from various stakeholders, the board has resolved to provide one final opportunity for those who missed previous deadlines and the dates,” a BSA statement said.
“Please take note that this is a special window created specifically to accommodate those who formally appealed for an extension. There will be no further extensions granted beyond 29 May 2026. We strongly encourage all eligible applicants to submit their documentation promptly to ensure administrative efficiency.”
Already, there are stakeholders who had applied timeously whose licences were approved by the BSA board during its meeting on Wednesday.
“We look forward to working closely with you. It is our hope and trust that you will contribute significantly to the growth of the sport, ensuring that you add value in strict accordance with the South African Boxing Act and all relevant legislative prescripts,” the BSA statement concluded.
