Naturena-based Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the departure of Uruguayan-born midfielder Gaston Sirino on Monday afternoon.

“Amakhosi bid farewell to Sirino. As Kaizer Chiefs bid farewell to Gaston Sirino, the club would like to express sincere gratitude to Papi for his dedication and contribution over the past two seasons,” Amakhosi said in a statement.

“The experienced Uruguayan midfielder played a key role in helping Amakhosi achieve success since he arrived at the club. We thank Gaston for his commitment and passion as well as all the memories he leaves behind at Naturena.”

The 35-year-old Sirino played 52 matches for Amakhosi and scored five goals since joining them from Mamelodi Sundowns two years ago. Sirino is expected to re-unite with former Chiefs coach, Khalil Ben Youssef, at Durban City.
