On the sidelines for almost three years, Athi Mahanjana is now back in professional boxing and has teamed up with Andile Mshumpela’s Mshu One Management.
Mahanjana’s return has been set in motion and has already started training at the Luvuyo Boxing Club under Luvuyo Tyamzashe and Mzolisi Yoyo, a former South African welterweight champion, in Mdantsane. Mahanjana has not fought since he defeated Sibonelo Nzimande on points in December 2023.
“Athi has joined Mshu One Management and has started training at the Tyamzashe Gym. We are planning to give him a fight in December. Siphosethu Mvula and Enathi Stelle are also going to feature in the same tournament,” Mshumpela said.
Out of Mahanjana’s nine professional fights, seven of them ended with stoppages. He has chalked up seven victories with six knockouts and two losses. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
