Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) chairman Teris Ntutu has admitted that world title hopeful Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile has faced some demons.
Speaking on SAfm’s Sport On show on Wednesday evening, Ntutu revealed that the hugely talented Fuzile didn’t tell him about being involved in a car accident last week.
“I heard about the accident after two days. Nobody told me about the accident, not even Azinga,” Ntutu said on SAfm.
The RAP boss also added that his promotional outfit had to chip in when Fuzile had problems.
“He’s a boy from Duncan Village like any other boy from a poor background. There are full of problems. But our responsibility is to help them out of those problems,” Ntutu said.
“Yes, there were problems associated with Azinga. Some of those problems were personal. We provided help to a point that the situation was improved from what we experienced in the past. There are problems as usual associated with him. There were many problems, which were not related to our commitment, not related to the business, which is boxing. I’m talking about personal issues.”
Meanwhile, Ntutu also revealed that he has not met Fuzile since the day they came back from the United States after he stopped Briton Martin Ward in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight eliminator in May this year.
