Nonito ‘Filipino Flash’ Donaire Junior reckons a fight against his unbeaten compatriot Reymart Gaballo is a win for the Philippines.
The World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight champion is expected to face Gaballo after the WBC ordered him to make a mandatory defence against his compatriot.
“It’s a blessing. It’s a win-win situation,” the 38-year-old champion told the Manila Times.
A venue and a date are yet to be announced for this all-Filipino shootout.
Donaire Jr won the WBC belt after he stopped former champion Nordine Oubaali from France in May this year while Gaballo scored a controversial win over Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rodriguez last December.
