Sekhukhune United coach MacDonald Makhubedu has said that he knew what to expect from AmaZulu before beating them 2-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Emirates Airline Park Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening.

Willard Katsande and Chibuike Ohizu netted for Babina Noko in each half to give their team a third straight win.

“I said it before the game that it was gonna be very, very tough with the team that is on form continentally and in the domestic league,” Makhubedu remarked.

“They are a very, very good side, tactically very strong. We had to dig deep. We had to fight, we had to match them pound for pound. It was not easy for us, but we were compact.”

Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy, meanwhile, admitted that Babina Noko were the better team.

“Sekhukhune made it very difficult for us. They were very straight forward, played the long ball, they got in a few times. We weren’t at our best,” McCarthy said.
