Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile and his trainer Mzamo ‘Chief’ Njekanye are on their way back to South Africa following the boxer’s failure to win a world title in the United States over the weekend.
Fuzile lost to Japanese boxer Kenichi Ogawa in a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight title fight at the Hulu Theatre in Madison Square Garden, New York City, on Sunday morning (South African time).
“We are on our way home. We are in Doha now. The boy is fine,” Njekanye said from the Gulf State on Tuesday.
Fuzile and Njekanye are due to land at the King Phalo Airport in East London on Wednesday afternoon.
