MAKALUZA FAMILY GRATEFUL TO BOXING FRATERNITY

The family of the late fight judge and referee Terrance ‘Ace’ Makaluza
has thanked the boxing fraternity for the support shown to them during
the difficult time of the former boxer’s passing.

Makaluza, who was a former professional boxer, passed away in Port
Elizabeth in November. He was buried on the last weekend of November.

‘‘To the Eastern Cape province, national and international boxing
family, your comforting messages of support, calls and prayers are
appreciated. Thank you to those who also managed to attend the
memorial and funeral services of our beloved Terrance ‘Ace’
Makaluza,’’ a statement from Mrs Makaluza and children said on Sunday.

The deceased was an internationally acclaimed boxing referee and
judge, who officiated in more than 24 International Boxing
Organisation (IBO) title fights.

During his time as a professional boxer from 1971 until his retirement
in 1981, Makaluza fought against legends like Nkosana ‘Happyboy’
Mgxaji, Loyiso Mtya, Anthony ‘Blue Jaguar’ Morodi, Alfred “Kid Bassie”
Buqwana and Elijah “Tap Tap” Makhathini.
