Misbah-ul-Haq is hopeful that the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world is not going disrupt Pakistan’s visit to South Africa.
Misbah, who coaches Pakistan, is here in South Africa to lead the Pakistanis in three one day internationals (ODIs) and four Twenty20 (T20) matches.
The seven matches are going to be spread between Wanderers in Johannesburg and Centurion starting this coming Friday..
“I think both boards are working very hard to keep this series going. Players and coaching staff are keen to play the series. We will take responsibility and the series will go on. We are hopeful and will do our best to finish the series,” Misbah said.
The first ODI is set for Centurion on Friday and the 46-year-old Misbah is looking forward to the match.
“I have always liked the Centurion wicket. Hopefully, we are gonna have good preparations before the match. I’m looking forward to the series. I’m looking forward to playing good, hard cricket. These are tough times because of the pandemic. It’s our duty as different nations to keep going,” the former Pakistan middle order batsman said.
The second ODI is going to be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday.
