Baroka FC haulted AmaZulu’s march beating them 1-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, on Tuesday afternoon.
Malawian Richard Mbulu netted the only goal of the match to give Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele the three points. Bakgaga have since moved to ninth place on the Premiership table with 32 points from 27 games.
This is a major setback for Usuthu’s title hopes as they are still seven points behind log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have 57 points from 26 matches. Usuthu, who were on a 17-match unbeaten before meeting Baroka, have played 27 matches.
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates drew goalless at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands.
This is one match that Stellies deserved to win easily had it not been Ashley due Preez’s numerous misses.
