It’s been a long road for hard-working Swallows FC defender Njabulo Ngcobo, who was one of the Dube Birds’ star players this past season.
That is why it’s easy to understand Ngcobo’s joy after he won the DStv Premiership Defender of the Season award beating Mamelodi Sundowns’ Mosa Lebusa and Tapelo Xoki from AmaZulu.
“I’m very much grateful that everything that I’m doing has resulted in this,” the 27-year-old Ngcobo said.
“I think I’m very happy with this award. I’m grateful to everyone who supported me since I started playing and those who wished me well. Once more, I thank God for making it possible for me to finish the season without an injury or getting suspended.”
Ngcobo, who is rumoured to be on his way to Kaizer Chiefs, was born in from Folweni, KwaZulu-Natal. He played in 23 matches and scored four goals in the process.
