Evidence Makgopa scored a brace on debut as Bafana Bafana beat Uganda 3-2 in an international friendly match at a cold Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Thursday evening. 
Bafana Bafana, who were coached by Helman Mkhalele in the absence of their coach Hugo Broos, came from behind to win the match. Broos is back home in Belgium for a second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine. 
The Cranes shocked Bafana Bafana when they took the lead through Ibrahim Orit’s header in the 17th minute. 
Bafana Bafana came to life in the second half and their efforts were rewarded when  Makgopa equalised in the 62nd minute. Five minutes later, Bongokuhle Hlongwane made it 2-1. 
Makgopa, who won the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season award on Sunday, completed his brace in the 82nd minute. 
The Cranes pulled one back through Abdul Lumala after Bafana Bafana defenders failed to clear from a corner kick in the 89th minute.
