Bafana Bafana won their second match in the COSAFA Cup after they beat a 10-man eSwatini 1-0 at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakhele, Gqeberha, on Thursday afternoon.
Second half substitute Thabang Sibanyoni, who replaced Masilakhe Phohlongo in the 54th minute, was only on the field for five minutes when he scored Bafana’s goal.
Isihlangu were reduced to 10 men after their influential captain Felix Badenhorst was red carded following a second bookable offence on the stroke of half time.
Being one man short didn’t deter Isihlangu as they piled more pressure and showed Bafana no respect. Justice Figareido and Sabelo Ndzinisa forced Bafana goalkeeper Veli Mothwa to make crucial saves in the 49th and 78th minutes respectively.
There were anxious moments for Bafana in the dying minutes of the match as Isihlangu raided their goalline.
