Steven Gardiner from the Bahamas won gold in the 400-metre final at the Tokyo Olympics in Japan on Thursday afternoon. 
Gardiner, who is a world champion, beat a formidable line-up of runners to win the event in 43.85 seconds at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo. 
Colombian Athony Zambrano finished second in 44.08secs while Grenada’s Kirani James came third in 44.19secs.
