Outgoing South African Under-23 captain Tercious Malepe was one of the seven players confirmed by ambitious AmaZulu on Thursday ahead of the beginning of the 2021/22 season.
Usuthu, who finished second on the log last season, also recruited Keegan Buchanan, Matarr Ceesay, Mxolisi Kunene, Philani Zulu, Tshepang Moremi and Lindani Shange.
The 24-year-old Malepe captained the SA Under-23s at the Tokyo Olympics in Japan. He played for Ukrainian side FC Mynai before joining Usuthu.
Buchanan and Kunene joined Usuthu from Maritzburg United while Zulu was offloaded by Kaizer Chiefs.
Moremi and Shange were promoted from the Usuthu Diski Challenge team with Gambian Ceesay signed from Senegalese side Casa Sports.
