International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight champion Sunny Edwards’ title defence against Filipino boxer Jayson Mama has been called off.
This comes after the Briton sustained an ankle injury. The fight was set for this coming Saturday.
“Gutted that my fight on Saturday is off. Want to apologise firstly to Jayson and his team, l understand the frustration they must be feeling. I am genuinely devastated,” Edwards said.
This was going to be Edwards’ first title defence since he dethroned Moruti Mthalane in April.
