Stuart Baxter believes that their match against Marumo Gallants at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday evening was a difficult encounter.

Coach Baxter’s Amakhosi and the Limpopo side settled for a point each as they drew goalless in a DStv Premiership clash.

“I think it was a very difficult game for either team to make any headway. I wasn’t happy with our intensity in the first half. I wasn’t happy with our possession. At half time, we changed a little bit. We secured the ball around to the box, we played better,” the Chiefs coach said.

Chiefs played the match without Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic, who’s nursing an injury. Baxter said that Nurkovic has undergone surgery to repair a meniscus in his right knee.

“He’s been carrying a minor injury for a long time. From last season, I think. And now we think Samir is not giving his best, therefore we gonna go for an operation,” Baxter said.

The Soweto giants continue to struggle as they have failed to pick up points in the last three matches.
