It’s quite easy to figure out why Thato  Bonokoane from Mogale City is excited.

Bonokoane is happy after he stopped Tholumusa Ngema in the seventh round to have the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental junior-featherweight belt strapped around his waist at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on Sunday evening.

“I knew that l was going to win the fight. It’s great that l have redeemed myself. He wanted to hit me, but his blows had no power. I outclassed him,” Bonokoane said.

Bonokoane has now stretched his record to 11 wins with eight knockouts, four defeats and three draws.

The 31-year-old Bonokoane went into the Ngema fight following a loss to Tajikistan boxer Asor Vokhidov in Russia earlier this year.
