Phila Mpontshane’s manager Andy Mtshotshisa has confirmed that he received a message telling him that Sibusiso Zingange’s handlers have sent a challenge form to Boxing South Africa (BSA).

In August BSA rejected Zingange’s challenge because he had lost his last two fights to Tanzanian Class Mgender and Albert Batyrgaziev from Russia.

Now Zingange is eligible to challenge Mpontshane after he defeated Anthony Maloisane in September.

“They have informed us that they have sent a challenge form to BSA.  I’m just waiting for them to come up with an offer. Remember, we agreed on a purse the last time we spoke to them. That was before BSA rejected Zingange’s challenge,” Mtshotshisa said.

Bonglez Boxing Promotions has slated Sunday, 12 December, as the date of the fight between Mpontshane and Zingange.

“Phila is going to be ready for the fight. He’s pushing very hard after taking a short break when his brother passed away,” Mtshotshisa said.
