Lusanda Komanisi is eager to fight against current South African lightweight champion Tshifhiwa Munyai.

However, the former SA and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) featherweight champion wants to honour his December fight before meeting Munyai.

“Munyai has no choice. He has to fight against me. It’s gonna be a big fight. It’s also true that one of us might get discouraged after losing the fight,” Komanisi, who was at ringside when Munyai stopped Sanele Msimang in Johannesburg on Sunday, remarked.

The 32-year-old boxer from Mdantsane has revealed that his promoter Happy Tewo from Tewo Promotions wants to promote the fight and has engaged both camps.

“My promoter is willing to make this fight happen. He has approached us and has also done the same with Munyai’s camp. I have a fight in December and will then need about 90 days before meeting Munyai,” Komanisi said.
