Chad le Clos added to Team South Africa’s medal tally after he came second in one minute and 55,89 seconds in the 200-metre butterfly at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, on Sunday evening.

Le Clos’ silver added to the two gold medals won in the pool by Lara van Niekerk and Pieter Coetze on Saturday evening.

The 30-year-old Le Clos has become the joint highest medal winner at the Commonwealth Games with 18 medals. The Durbanite’s medal haul includes seven gold, four silver and seven bronze.

Le Clos equalled the number of medals won by shooters Phillip Adams from Australia and Englishman Michael Gault.
