Kaizer Chiefs are through to the semi-finals of the MTN8 after they beat Stellenbosch FC 4-3 on penalties at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands on Sunday.

This match went into extra time and ultimately to penalties after the two sides had played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, who made his Amakhosi return after a year and 13 days, saved two penalties.

Back to regulation time, a blunder by Njabulo Ngcobo three minutes into the second half resulted in Sihle Nduli netting the first goal of the match giving Stellies the lead.

It took Amakhosi 10 minutes to equalise through Ashley du Preez, who joined Chiefs from Stellies.

This match was delayed for more than 20 minutes because of throngs of people who were still outside during the scheduled 15h00 kickoff time.
