Mamelodi Sundowns became the fourth team to reach the MTN8 semi-finals after a 2-0 win over SuperSport United at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday evening.

Second half substitutes Marcelo Allende and Abubeker Nasir’s goals helped the Tshwane giants make it to the last four of the competition. Allende broke the deadlock in the 80th minute and Nasir doubled the score in referee’s added time.

Both players, who are still new at Sundowns, have scored two goals each in two matches for the defending MTN8 champions.

Meanwhile, Sundowns have joined Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu in the semi-finals. The draw for the semi-finals is going to be held on Monday evening.
