Unbeaten East London boxer Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga will meet his Mexican foe Hector Flores for the first time on Thursday.

The two adversaries are going to come face-to-face during a press conference scheduled for Hotel Lucerna in Hermosillo, Sorona, ahead of their fight on Saturday (Sunday morning, South African time).

Nontshinga and Flores collide in a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title contest. The title became vacant after Nicaraguan Felix Alvarado moved up to the flyweight division earlier this year.

The 23-year-old Nontshinga will be fighting for the first time since his win over Filipino boxer Christian Araneta in an elimination bout in April last year.

Nontshinga together with his trainer Colin Nathan, his father Thembani Gopheni and Royal Talent Management’s Siya Zingelwa arrived in Mexico on Tuesday evening (Wednesday morning, SA time).
