Kaizer Chiefs are going to play against Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup on the first weekend of May.

Amakhosi reached the last four of the competition after they beat Royal AM 2-1 at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Sunday evening while the Buccaneers defeated Gauteng amateur side Dondol Stars 5-4 on penalties in Polokwane on Saturday.

Samuel Manganyi, who came on for an injured Happy Jele inside 20 minutes, headed past Amakhosi goalminder Brandon Petersen from a corner to give Thwihli Thwahla the lead in the 28th minute.

Chiefs equalised through a stunning own goal by veteran defender Thabo Matlaba in the 36th minute. While trying to clear the ball, Matlaba headed past Thwihli Thwahla goalie Xolani Ngcobo, who was off his line.

Amakhosi scored their winning goal when Yusuf Maart netted from the penalty spot in the 102nd minute. Match referee Jelly Chavani awarded Chiefs a penalty after Ngcobo had fouled Mduduzi Shabalala inside the box.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC, who beat Mamelodi Sundowns at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday evening, will be at home to Sekhukhune United in the second semi-final.

On the other hand, Babina Noko reached the semi-finals after they defeated Chippa United 2-1 away at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Sunday afternoon.
