Sikho ‘Sequence’ Nqothole’s mission to be rated by the world’s four top boxing bodies is taking him to a fight against Reymark ‘Lucky Boy’ Alicaba from the Philippines.
Mthatha-born Nqothole’s fight against the 25-year-old Filipino is scheduled to be held at the Carnival City in Brakpan on Saturday, 24 May.
Currently, Nqothole enjoys being rated in the top 15 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF). The WBC rates him in 15th spot and he occupies 13th position on the IBF ratings.
The bout against Alicaba is Nqothole’s first fight since he stopped Namibian Jafet Amukwa in the second round at the Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg last September.
Alicaba, who has nine wins with seven knockouts and six defeats, lost his last fight to ArAr Andales in the Philippines in February this year.
