A total of 30 amateur boxers are set to trade leather at a development tournament in the Nelson Mandela Bay region on Saturday.

Mpucuko Sport Development, a brainchild of former South African flyweight champion Ncedo Cecane, is behind the initiative to make it possible for amateur boxers to compete against each other.

And there will be non-stop action for seven hours as boxers will square up against each other at the Tambo Village Hall, Langa, in Kariega from 10am until 17h00.

For more than three years, Cecane has been taking amateur boxing to almost all corners of the Eastern Cape and each tournament has been a resounding success.
