After his boxer made the required weight easily in Poland on Saturday afternoon, boxing trainer Felix Venganayi declared that world title contender Simamkele Tutsheni is ready to exchange blows with Polish opponent Monika Laura Monika Grzyb.

Originally from Ngqeleni in the Eastern Cape and now based in Langa, Cape Town, Tutsheni is on a mission to return home with the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) female junior-featherweight title as she fights against Grzyb at Miasto Jastrzębie-Zdrój on Sunday.

“She’s in good spirit and she made the weight easily. She never starved herself while preparing for this fight. She’s ready to go,” the IBO All-Africa junior-featherweight champion’s trainer Felix Venganai said.

This clash pits two unbeaten boxers as the 24-year-old Tutsheni, who works as a firefighter in Cape Town, has won all her eight fights with three of those wins coming from knockouts.

On the other hand, the 30-year-old Grzyb, a winner of the 2023 Best Polish Professional Female Boxer, has won all her 11 professional bouts with three of those victories coming from the short route. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
