Jemuel Aranas from the Philippines landed in South Africa on Tuesday morning ahead of Saturday evening’s international junior-bantamweight bout against Phumelela ‘The Truth’ Cafu.
The former Philippine Games and Amusements Youth flyweight title contender, who hails from Cebu, arrived in South Africa together with his trainer Edgar Dayondon.
Aranas came to South Africa to face Cafu, a former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) junior-bantamweight titlist, on the back of a third round stoppage win over Jeric Noynay in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) Silver flyweight title fight in May.
He carries a professional record of nine victories with five stoppages, three losses and one draw. Cafu, meanwhile, has 11 wins with eight knockouts, a loss and three draws.
