South African title challenger Katlego ‘Kat’ Khanyisa felt a little bit relieved after he finally signed a contract for his clash against national champion, Asanda ‘Dynamite’ Gingqi.
Khanyisa from Tembisa in Ekurhuleni is going to challenge SA junior-lightweight titlist Gingqi at Selborne Park in KuGompo City on Saturday, 26 September.
“I have signed the contract. It’s both the break out from almost a year of inactivity and presumably the biggest test of my fight career. It’s all hands on deck now because breaking into the international ratings is what I’ve got my mind set up towards after my clash and defeat of the current SA champion,” Khanyisa remarked.
Khanyisa, who’s the mandatory challenger to Gingqi’s title, is also the reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) Africa junior-lightweight champion.
And hee has won all his 11 fights with four of those wins coming from knockouts. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
