Danny Jordaan has beaten Sandile Zungu to remain as the president of the South African Football Association (SAFA).
Jordaan, who had been the president of SAFA since 2013, won 157 votes compared to the AmaZulu owner’s 82 at an elective congress held in Midrand, Johannesburg, on Saturday.
Meanwhile, four regions – Amajuba (KwaZulu-Natal), Harry Gwala (KwaZulu-Natal), Sarah Baartman (Eastern Cape), and Pixley Ka Seme (Northern Cape) were disqualified from taking part in the elections with their disqualification bringing down the number of voting regions from 52 to 48.
The South African Masters and Legends Football Association (SAMLFA) had no voting rights at the elective congress as it was suspended.
