AmaZulu defender Tercious Malepe is still hurting following last week’s shock 2-0 loss to Sekhukhune United in Johannesburg.
Now Malepe hopes Usuthu will arrest the slide and register a win when they clash against Marumo Gallants in a DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, on Wednesday (15h30).
“To be honest, we are not happy with the result we got away against Sekhukhune. It’s a matter of how we are going to bounce back,” Malepe said.
The former South African national Under-23 captain is hoping for a change of fortunes on Wednesday.
“We are looking forward, the guys are looking sharp. We are putting everything we have into the game,” Malepe said.
“We have to go into the game to make sure that we get back to the momentum of winning games. We know it’s very important for us to get victory against Gallants. I know it’s not gonna be an easy game, but we are up for the fight. They have lots of quality players, the experience is too much. It’s gonna be a tough game.”
Usuthu are eighth on the Premiership standings with 10 points from two wins, four draws and two losses while Gallants occupy 15th spot after three draws and four defeats.
