PSL ACTS AFTER EXTENDED CURFEW ANNOUNCED

The extended curfew has forced the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to
change kick off times for evening matches.

Normally, midweek evening matches start at 19h30 and now they are
going to start 30 minutes earlier to make sure that they end before
21h00 on time for the 22h00 curfew.

The PSL took this decision after State President Cyril Ramaphosa
announced extended curfew on Monday evening as part of the new
regulations to address the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘‘In compliance with the regulations all night matches of the PSL will
start at 19h00 at the very latest and be completed on or before 21h00
in the evening,’’ the PSL said in a statement on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, former Lusitano, Highlands Park, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando
Pirates coach Joe Frickleton has died.

Frickleton, who was born in Scotland, passed away in Cape Town on Tuesday.
